A new beginning

What a great concept! The colours of the leaves and aged pages of the books really do remind me of autumn and give the shot a great warmth. The browns of the surrounding leaves allow the bright oranges of the two focal leaves to stand out.

The straightness and formality of the book fonts contrast the natural shapes and rough texture of the leaves.

In terms of technique this is done pretty well. The image is very sharp making it almost 2D, which is a cool effect. I would suggest next time a bit more light would make the impact of this shot 5 stars. Maybe a tripod and a longer shutter speed by just a touch, or a wider aperture, or even a couple of flashes from a distance would help light the shot up.

In all this work is great and is a good example of texture, shape and colour.
